/Introduction to world percussion

Join us for our Introduction to World Percussion and Rhythm Workshop with Julian Douglas! Julian brings more than 25 years of experience playing and teaching world percussion. He is a Remo Health Rhythms trained facilitator and a recipient of the Indiana Arts Commission On-Ramp Fellowship. Julian’s influences include traditions from the African diaspora, Asia, and the Middle East. His approach to music centers on the creative process and authentic expression.
At this Introduction to World Percussion and Rhythm Workshop, Julian will be providing an information on traditional vocabulary, instrumental technique, the theory of rhythm, and helping students learn how to express themselves through world percussion instruments. Whether the goal is to enhance your rhythmic skills and vocabulary or to take up or deepen a personal creative practice, there will be something for everyone in the workshop.

complete beginner’s ukulele workshop

The easy to learn and fun to play ukulele is the perfect first instrument for all ages! In our Complete Beginner's Ukulele Workshop you'll learn all the basics of the uke, including the following: tuning, beginner chords, scales, learning how to improvise, and how to play almost every song in the world with only 4 chords!!!

Uncle Willie's Heart Rhythms Workshop featuring Musical Washboard, Spoons, and More

Join us for this super-fun KID FRIENDLY workshop! Uncle Willie (aka Bill Bailey) is known for his skills with idiophonic instruments, including the Musical Washboard, Musical Spoons, and other unique percussion instruments! Join us to learn to express yourself on these unique instruments and jam along together!

complete beginner’s Mandolin workshop

Join us at Weed Patch Music Company for a Mandolin Workshop for the Complete Beginner! Absolutely no experience is necessary for this workshop - you don’t even need your own mandolin (just borrow one from us for an additional $5)! We’ll teach you everything you need to know to get started playing, including proper hand technique, beginner chords and scales, and your very first song!
