KRISTIN THOMPSON

Weed Patch Music Company owner, Kristin Thompson, has taught workshops and lessons through Weed Patch for over 13 years! Kristin is extremely passionate about making music accessible for all skill levels and providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for all students to start learning. All lessons are taught out of our lesson room at Weed Patch Music Company - all ages and all experience levels are encouraged!

Private lessons available for the following: Bluegrass/3-Finger Style Banjo, Clawhammer/Old-Time Banjo, Ukulele (Kids, Beginners, Strumming, Fingerstyle, and Advanced Methods), Guitar (Beginner to Intermediate Levels), Mandolin (Beginner), Dulcimer (Beginner), and more! Kristin also offers starter workshops and lessons in a variety of other instruments, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

Group Workshops available all year long! Schedule your own private Group Workshop for your family, bridal shower, or special event!

KARA BARNARD

Kara Barnard is a nationally recognized multi-instrumentalist, instructor, singer/songwriter and artist. She is the 2022 Walnut Valley Festival National Dulcimer Contest Champion. Kara has taught professionally for over 20 years and currently teaches over 50 students weekly out of her Nashville Indiana studio.

Audrey jo Williams

Audrey Jo Williams is a professional musician in Bloomington, Indiana who began her studies on double bass, cello, and violin and has over 10 years of experience teaching students of all skill levels. Her students have won and placed in national competitions, gotten into the prestigious IU String Academy at the Jacobs School of Music, and more.

Allie Jean Burbrink

Allie is a musician, teacher, and mom. As a founding member of the Indiana-based band The Whipstitch Sallies, she sang lead and harmony, wrote songs, and played guitar, clawhammer banjo, and harmonica. Allie also played in the popular old time string band The Freight Hoppers, based in western North Carolina. Whether performing, teaching, or playing music with her son, Allie is enthusiastic and encouraging. She believes making music is something everyone can learn to do!

Julian Douglas

Julian brings more than 25 years of experience playing and teaching world percussion. He is a Remo Health Rhythms trained facilitator and a recipient of the Indiana Arts Commission On-Ramp Fellowship. Julian’s influences include traditions from the African diaspora, Asia, and the Middle East. His approach to music centers on the creative process and authentic expression.

Sarah Flint

Sarah Flint has toured extensively with rock, folk, country and jazz ensembles, sometimes playing guitar and flute and always singing.  Sarah has been teaching guitar, ukulele and voice for almost 30 years, helping students unlock the mysteries of music and helping them become proficient musicians.
